Okay. Here’s The Truth.

The truth is,

you can learn how to draw from anywhere.

Youtube, all those art books on Amazon, or just practicing in your room by yourself.

You don’t need us.

I mean, Michelangelo didn’t have Drawcademy, and he did just fine.

But, hear me out.

If you don’t align with what I’m about to say, we invite you to unsubscribe.

Hey, no hard feelings - the last thing we want would be to push something onto you that you’re not actually interested in.

Here goes.

We believe Drawcademy has the potential to do something really great.

For two reasons.

We know a secret.

And that secret is: An artist’s mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.

We’re obsessed with kindling fires.

Drawcademy was created by Nate.

Founded because -

when he was a kid, he didn’t have the opportunity of a formal art education. But all he did was draw. And it took him a really, really long time to figure stuff out.

We don’t want that for you.

If we could change one thing in the world for the better - leave our indelible mark upon humanity - it would be for aspiring artists to understand the greatness that is within their grasp.

To inculcate growth mindsets - the strongest kind of platemail around.

To seek out, and eradicate perfectionism in all its dark forms.

To reach within the depth of our soul, harness the diamonds of passion found therein, and channel this awe inspiring force to produce art with meaning.

The kind of art that not only inspires purpose in ourselves,

but in others too.

The crunchy technical stuff - Yes we teach that; it’s important. It’s part of the never ending road of becoming an artist, over, and over again.

But the fire-kindling lies in our community. Because what we do is merely the result of who we are.

It is our sincerest hope that Drawcademy will be a place filled with passionate people,

who collectively strive to find growth and meaning at the edge of their abilities.

A community which supports one another -

by heartfelt affirmation,

and endearing critique.

People who traverse the long road of artistic mastery side by side

- because when you travel together, the journey is easy.

So it is our wish that this missive finds those people.

If you would like to be a part of Drawcademy - this,

is our invitation to you.

But above all, thank you for taking the time to read this, and be a part of our history in whichever way you choose. If we can provide a better art education, or help you in some way-

we will.

PS:

Birthday humble brag. Drawcademy is 2 years old! Thank you for another amazing year 💜

All the best,

From Sketchifer,

& the whole team at Drawcademy

(which is secretly just Nate, quite sleepy, but somehow - even more content).

Think less; Draw More.

If you found this valuable, share it with a friend, or consider enrolling in a class today. Thank you!
